![]() ![]() ![]() Steeling himself, he launched toward the knot in the trunk he had chosen for his perch. ![]() His eyes caught the target, and his haunches wiggled and he fixed his footing. Muscles bunched as they crouched low, tail flicking back and forth slowly, carefully. Cerulean orbs gazed upon the mountainous form before them, calculating the best way to scale the surface towards his goal. They stretched languidly before prancing towards the face of Oldest and Wisest. She hummed a reminder about his plans, gently urging her partner to rise. Tinkling laughter echoed within him as Fi-sister-partner-other half beheld his actions, though he could care less at the moment. It wasn’t until he had cleaned himself that he’d realized how unpleasant the feeling had been. They flopped down, preening as their mind flooded with free-relief-comfort. On a nearby rock they pushed their head across the surface to itch the fuzzy covering off his antlers and the horns lining his snout, pure relief flooding his being. There was no hesitation in the dragonet’s movements as they dove into it, rolling around and pushing their body along the ground to scrub the mess from scales and fur. Small claws scrambled across stone and soil towards a small pool of water. His wings and fur are no longer wet and sticky, instead itchy and irritating and wrong-wrong-off-off-need it off. For all his years of caring for the koroks, he had still tried to speak to the poor sprout as if he were old enough to wield the sword of destiny right out of the shell. He felt sheepish, which was quite an odd feeling to have as a tree, realizing the error he had made the eve before. The Great Deku Tree, however, had spent the long hours of the night pondering, keeping watch over the hatchling who’s egg Farosh himself had asked him to care for all those years ago. His children rose throughout the grove, itching to feel the light upon their leaves. The creatures born of moonlight and quiet had already made way for those that thrived in the sun.
